“Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him? Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?”
Isaiah 40:13-14 NLT
“To whom can you compare God? What image can you find to resemble him?”
Isaiah 40:18 NLT
His verses challenges me to reflect and to look to the greatness of God, at the same time that I look inwards and see how limited I’m.
Sometimes we think we know better than God. In prayers, we try to “teach” or convince God what is the best for our lives. We try to shape our desires in a way to show God that my way is the best way.
Those verses really put us into our right place and shows that we are nothing compared to God’s power, wisdom and knowledge.
The chapter finished with a very popular verse:
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 NLT
Let’s stop trying to convince God of our own hearts desires but start to ask his will to our lives.
Let’s trust in the Lord because with Him we can find new strength to continue our journey.
Father, teach me your will. May your will be what my hearts desires the most. Help me to trust in you in all my ways, so I will never get tired and always following your will to my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
