Watch the Door You Are Led To

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.””
— ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:41‬‬

We need to be on guard and keep our hearts and minds focused on Jesus. We will experience temptation but if we are not prepared and vigilant about what is happening, where we are, what we are being drawn into, or even talking about, we can easily enter into temptation. Jesus will give us a way out but if we aren’t watching for it we will enter into the door that is leading us to sin. We can have all the willpower and promises to avoid temptation but when we actually face it we cannot rely upon our will power because the flesh is weak.

I know how many times I have screwed up even though I had best intentions and true desire to follow Christ, I mess up. It is a fact that I will mess up as long as I live here in this fallen world. But, I know Jesus already knew about my past, present and future and still chose to die for me. Thank you Jesus! I need to really keep my eyes open for the exit that Jesus will provide. I also need to be prayerful when I sense I am heading for the door leading to sin. I also need to check my condition of my body-tiredness; heart-too much negative or lack of refreshing; spirit-not enough time in prayer and worship.

Jesus, thank you for what you did on the Cross to heal us. Thank you for your grace that covers all my sins. Thank you for providing a way out. Please forgive me and help me to see the exits you are placing in my life. I love you! In Your Name Jesus. Amen!
