“Consider what God has done: Who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.”
Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 NIV
Nobody is able to fix what God already determined. He made the good and the bad times in our lives, to make us able to learn about Him. Our first response for bad times usually is “Why God? What did I do to deserve this?”
We might never understand the reasons of the challenging times in our lives, but those good and bad times shapes who we are. It is all about how we face those challenging days. The author reminds us that nothing is certain in this life.
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 NIV
I need to consider that God made good and bad times, and in everything that He does there is a purpose. Even when those circumstances brings me to places that I did not plan, the Lord establishes my steps. His plans is not to harm me but to give me hope and a future.
Dear Father, thank you so much for your love to me. Thank you for the good days! Remind me to be happy with the small things you prepared. Thank you for the bad times as well. Nothing goes out of your control, and nothing catches you by surprise. You planned every single detail of my life. Let me trust in you, because you give me hope and a future. In Jesus name I pray.
