Thankful and Blessed Because of My Wife

Proverbs 31:10-12 NIV
10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

King Lemuel wrote these words based on the advice that his mother gave him. I thought about my wife and thought about how much she cares for me that I have never lacked anything because of her. Masa-san talked about how important wives are and especially because the wisdom that they possess is boundless. I had to think about how much her foresight and wisdom helped me to become who I am today. She endlessly encourages and supports me and the family and seeks God for direction to guide our family. I rely on her so much for many decisions and I have full confidence in her decisions and direction for I know she seeks God.

I am writing this because I cannot count the blessings I have because God has blessed with a wife that is more than amazing! Men, value your wife for they are there to bring out God’s best in you. They will be the very one in your corner when things are falling all around you. They will uphold you and give you sound direction from God.

Ladies, you are all amazing as you are. Many will compare themselves to Proverbs 31 and find they don’t even fit a couple of characteristics, but that doesn’t mean you are not valuable. God has given you strengths and gifts that will complement those of your husband. As you seek God, you will find that the traits He has developed in you will show you that you are truly a Proverbs 31 woman.

How can I serve my wife?
1) Pray for her. I know she goes through struggles and stresses that can bring her down. I need to constantly, daily and moment by moment pray for her.
2) Encourage her: I know I can sometimes be really negative and show my ugly side around her. I need to start learning to let her see my happy-side more often.
3) Listen to her: I think we haven’t had much time to have a good talk and talk about things that are on our heart. I need to create time for that.

Jesus, thank you so much for blessing me with a wife that is far more valuable than jewels. Thank you for blessing her with your wisdom and discernment. Thank you for entrusting me with your daughter and I ask for your forgiveness for sometimes, not being such a good husband. I ask that you continually pour out your blessings into Yuko and allow her to shine brightly! Thank you thank you thank you, Jesus! In your beautiful Name, Jesus, Amen.
