All Parts, All Important

For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not, for this reason, any the less a part of the body.
Paul explains that the Church is the body of Christ. He details how each part is necessary, and each part is special. He also reveals that there are many different giftings and abilities that each member will have and all are to use them to bring glory to the body, which is Christ. What he is expressing is that we are all important in the family of Christ. We are all blessed with specific attributes, and none should think any less of themselves because of their gifting, for all gifts should be celebrated!Application:
I think it is easy to start to compare ourselves with each other and to “rank” our importance based upon how much “visibility” we have. Because we live in a highly comparative and visual world through SNS, we can feel not needed and not important. We may not want to take part in ministry because we may feel not good enough. The truth is that we are all made wonderfully and God has given each of us unique character and a heart for unity. I look at the New Generations Service, and I see how these young ministers are using their unique talents and abilities to worship and bring glory to Christ. I sometimes struggle in confidence because I feel I can’t preach as well as Tantan, nor is my knowledge base as deep as Tidi or Taichi. However, I know God has blessed and will use me to bring glory to His Name. Paul also says that we should desire the greater gifts, so I pray that God will bless me with a beautiful singing voice too!

I need to remember that:
1) My worth and value come from Christ.
2) The gifts and talents that God has blessed me with will be powerful in the hands of the Holy Spirit.
3) I need to the best I can, and God will make up for the difference.

Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice upon the cross that draws us all together in one body by your blood. Your blood has washed us and fills our very veins that it is no longer us but you who live within. I am so grateful for the gifts you have blessed me with, and I ask that you take the gifts that you have given me and use them for your glory. I chose to move in Your Spirit, and I confess that my worth comes from you! I love you and ask this in Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
