“When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.””
Luke 19:5 NASB
“Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.””
Luke 19:8 NASB
Zaccheus was a chief of tax collectors and he was rich. He was a small guy, so when Jesus approached the city that he was living, he climbed a tree to be able to see Jesus. Jesus called him, stayed in his house, and in that day, salvation came to Zaccheus.
Jesus is a gentleman. He does not enters someone’s heart if the person does not allow him. When a person allows Jesus to enter into his heart, changes starts to happen in his life:
1. The person starts to have compassion to the ones in need.
2. A sense of justice, or to do what is right starts to grow inside him leading to restitution.
We are not the same after Jesus enters our hearts.
Father, thank you that you came to seek and save the lost. Thank you for your caring and protection each day. Tomorrow is Presidential Election Day in Brazil. Help the people to be wise in that day. But above all, help us to remember that you are the leader of our lives and we will always follow you. In Jesus name I pray.
