‘And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.’
Yesterday I had a meeting for a possible freelance job. So, I prepared a portfolio with my best works, and went for the meeting. In the meeting, the vice-president of that company was asking about a lot of things that I have done before.
When I am trying to get a job or let’s say, “when I want to be chosen”, I show all the good work I have done. A few verses before, Paul was talking about God’s chosen people, and he says that “it is not by their good works”, but through His kindness, by His grace.
Paul describes the Grace of God as free and undeserved.
I deserve nothing from God, but he gives me everything I need. He gives for free, not as a exchange of my “good work”.
- I was not chosen because of who I am
- I was not chosen because of what I’ve done
- I was chosen because of his free and underserved grace.
Today we had a great time in the church. Four people got baptized. They decided to follow you and confess they love for you. Such a joy to see your grace reaching out others. Help me to remember about your grace, free and undeserved. That you chose me, and I didn’t do anything for it. Thank you for Your kindness and love.
